Braille on the go

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Big cities become big not only by their size but also the consideration they show towards all people. All over Japan, I came across these braille on the go markings on all footpaths and everywhere one could walk. The lines signify that a person can walk along but as soon as they come across the 'stops' that are round, they should know that a crossing has come up. Better still, all traffic signals have beeps that tell the blind whether they should cross or not. We don't have that here... but then we don't have footpaths or traffic signals either!!
